I still can't get my head around how if you booked advanced tickets you can travel Virgin but not super off peaks.

I have to say it's a fucking piss take. it's been a farce. If they have had to cancel the engineering work because of the scale of people needing moving then Network Rail should be footing the bill so anyone can have a train journey.
Virgin are taking the piss because had they had this on sale at time of the draw the fare would have been £20 return instead of the £55 quid they want.

Spoke with Virgin and they said if you have a super off peak ticket from Marylebone you WONT be able to travel on their trains and if you do they will charge the FULL fare on the train which is £168.
So I've cancelled our tickets and rebooked on Virgin using the Milton Keynes split and it's cost us £13 each extra but I reckon that's £13 well spent.

Sometimes at Euston you get tickets checked before the platform so I'd be wary of rocking up there and reckon you'll be okay getting on the train.

I got the abus few years back between Banbury and Lemington, it really wasnt as bad as it sounds - took about 25mins. There is also loads of taxis if you want to jump in one of those.
